Government House,
Hongkong, 2nd. February, 1916.
I have the homur to inform Your Excellency
+
that 4 Chinese, kidnapped in September from this Colony by robbers who it is thought confined them in one of the islands near Macno - probably in Wong Kam until recently when they succeeded in
making their escape, have recently returned to the Colony, and I would ask whether arrangements can be made by which some of these
persons may be enabled to proceed to Macao with a Police Officer
from Canton in order to point out the place of their detention
which may be in Portuguese or Chinese territory or in territory
over which both Ching and Portugal claim jurisdiction.
His Excellency
Senhor José Carlos da Maia,
I have etc.,
(sd.) F. H. May,
Governor, &c..
Governor of Macao,
MACAO.
